Gretchen Sprow, a graduate student in Behavioral Neuroscience, is the recipient of the 2011 King Research Excellence Award.
This award honors Dr. Richard King, an Emeritus Professor of Psychology at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, for his many contributions to our department over the years. This award recognizes research excellence.
Gretchen won for her research on understanding the neurobiological underpinnings of alcoholism using several pre-clinical models and the role of melanocortin system in pre-clinical models of binge-like ethanol consumption.
