Dr. Donald Lysle, a Kenan Distinguished Professor of Behavioral and Integrative Neuroscience, and Dr. Todd Thiele, a Professor of Behavioral and Integrative Neuroscience, are the recipients of a 2020 National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) R21 grant.

The Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Award (R21) is intended to to encourage exploratory/developmental research by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of project development.

Dr. Lysle and Dr. Thiele received a total award of over $408,000 (over two years) for their project, “A Role for IL-1 Beta in Ethanol Withdrawal-Induced Increase of PTSD-Like Phenotype.”
